Something's Brewing....

Ooooh have we got something different for you on Friday!

Of course, we're not going to tell you anything yet, where would the fun be in that? But there's one thing we do need to let you know and that's that our launch time for this Friday will be 12 noon UK time rather than our usual 10am. So watch this space....

Okay, back to this week and a quick reminder that there's still time to enjoy a little bit of Metal Madness and join in with this fab Dare. Last week we had 19 people link to their cards - we're up to 18 already so please keep up the good work and help break that record to smithereens.

For the Little Extra challenge this week we've a sketch for you to have a go at. We don't mind how you use it
- bend it, stretch it, shirnk it or turn it on it's head - as long as we can see the original plan in there it counts and we'd love to see how you use it. Leave a link to where we can see your creation, or send it to our Gallery at the address on the main Dare message and we'll all come and visit.

As usual we've had a go ourselves and here are cards from Jane, Gillian and Kathy to get your creative juices on the move. Well, we hope so anyway!

Okay Everyone it's time to move on to another Dare and now it's Saffa's turn...
This weeks dare is entitled:
HEAVY METAL
..no I don't mean rock music! I would like you to make a card on any theme you like with the rule that it must include something metalic...thats all!You could use wire, charms, foil or even metallic pens.
So, plenty of room there for some fun and creativity. The Design Team have been clinking bits of metal all week and our cards are shown below. Now it's over to you to do your bit, we're here and waiting to see your "take" on the theme.

Extra! Extra!

Please keep the "Through the Window" cards coming, we've seen some wonderful cards so far for this Dare and hopefully there are loads more to come. If you haven't already taken a tour around all the cards on the links lists then make sure you spend a few minutes checking them all out because you really don't want to miss seeing them - they are fab.
Last week's Little Extra was a toughie, I think - but we had some lovely cards for that too. You need to check the links directly from the comments pages to see the cards from those who dared to rise to our Midweek challenges.
And so......on to this week's extra.

We have a recipe for you this time; your challenge is to make a card using the following ingredients:
7 brads or eyelets
6 flowers
5 letters
oooooh, tricky eh? Well here are some from Rhi and Keryn just to get you thinking.
As usual, leave a comment to tell us you've Dared, and we'll pop along and see what you've created.

Through the Round Window

Or the square window, or the arched window, or any shape window you like!

This week its Rhi setting the dare, and I dare you to make a card with an aperture in it, it can be any shape you like and can be see through or have something covering behind it. It could be a ready made aperture card or lots of small windows punched out, diecut or handcut or one large window. It could be a shaker card and can be for any occasion. As always its great to see what you come up with in response to the dares. Here's what the Daring Cardmakers Design Team have come up with this week to inspire you, take a peek and share your creations with us in the usual way.

For some other not so good news, our Janine has decided to withdraw from the DCM design team- as she has so many other new challenges to cope with over the next few months. So, we offer Janine our sincere best wishes for the future and that she achieves all she is dreaming for.

Here's the design team creations for this week.

Raid Your Wardrobe

Well you have all started the New Year magnificently. It is wonderful to see all your wonderful work. And before we show you what is up our sleeves (ha, ha) this week we have some Big News of our own!....

we have a new Design Team member. So a warm welcome to the wonderful, highly talented and just plain gorgeous Gillian Hamilton! It's a priviledge to have you on board Gillian.

This weeks dare is to look in your wardrobe for inspiration. It may be the pattern on a skirt, the style of a shirt, the pattern on a jumper or the fringe of a scarf. Your card could be clothing shaped! Just go with your creative flow.

Here we are modelling our creations... You will need to visit our blogs to see what the clothing inspiration was.

What a load of old rubbish!!

We hope you're still making your blingy 'beadiful cards - We've seen some fab cards so far, please keep them coming, we love to see your work.

Just as a little midweek extra and to help you use the various bits and pieces scavenged from the Christmas and New Year festivities, we would like you to use something leftover to make a card.

You could use a bit of ribbon from a cracker, paper from a paper hat, a piece of leftover wrapping paper, a bit of card/paper/ribbon from a box of chocs - as long as it's something saved, or scavenged it's allowed!

Of course, it does not have to be Christmas leftovers, I am sure that you all have bits and pieces lovingly saved from being chucked out in the rubbish!!

To get you started, here are some examples made by the design team;

Just a note- The DCM blog has now switched over to 'Beta' - unfortunately the process meant that some peoples past comments have switched to an 'anonymous status' for which we appologise !
