Setting the Scene

Thanks to everyone that joined in with our 'Embossability' challenge last week.   We were delighted to see so many entries and there was a gorgeous selection of cards on show!
It's Sharon here to set this weeks challenge and this week we have a fabulous prize on offer thanks to Docrafts!
Firstly, the challenge - the theme is:
Setting the Scene

We'd like you to make your card your canvas for creating your own miniature world!  The theme is totally your choice and you can use whatever you like to create your scene - die cuts, stamps, embellishments - but please use various elements for the 'scene', don't just use one stamp!
Our challenge this week is sponsored by Xcut – the exciting die-cutting and tool range from Docrafts. The winner of the challenge can choose one of the 4 exciting new sets of Build-A-Scene Dies each worth £19.95. Each set features a collection of dies that work together to let you build up layered designs to create a beautiful or fun scene! Choose from Vintage Hot Air Balloon, Nautical, Garden Party or London.
Docrafts have made a fun animation to launch the dies that is sure to get your creative juices flowing - take a peek below!

 Now the rules.
Please create a card along the 'Setting the Scene' theme.  Once you've done that, please mention The Daring Cardmakers in your blog post, and also include a link to the Docrafts website - www.docrafts.com.
Please, please, make sure you follow these rules, it's such a wonderful prize and we'd hate for you to miss the chance to win!
The Design Team have come up with some fantastic inspiration for you -

Embossability

Thanks to everyone who joined in with Leo's 'frilly' challenge last week and for sharing some pretty frilly cards, we loved visiting your blogs.

It's Keilly here with this week's challenge...

'Embossability'

I'd like you to make a card / project and use embossing of some kind, either wet or dry embossing, let's see some texture!

Don't forget to post and share your link so we can come see what you've made.

The 'Frill' Of It All

Hi everyone, Leo here again with your next dare and thank you to everyone who played along with the colour challenge last week :)
This week we say a big "Hello" to our new Guest Designer
Beckie Dreyer
You may well already know Beckie's fantastic crafting from the design work she has done over the years  for some of the best crafting companies in the business - so we are very lucky to have her on our team for the next few weeks!
This week your challenge is:
The 'Frill' Of It All
I would like you to incorporate some kind of frill on your card. It could be a frilly embellishment or background or maybe a stamp you have that would work. Anything that's fun and frilly! When you're done pop back here to leave a link to your uploaded project so we can come and see what you've made.
Have fun!
x Leo
Here are the cards the design team have come up with to get you started this week:

Ribbon Reel Winner (scroll down for new dare)

It's worth reading the simple rules when we have prizes to give away.  As long as you do that and comply - usually just a case of adding the store link of our generous sponsor and one for us too, then you'll be in our draw - and we do check before we name the winner.....

You'd be amazed at how many people miss out on a lovely treat because they forgot to check those rules.  Of course that means those who do have a greater chance of winning, doesn't it?
go to shop

The winner of our Christmas and New Year prize voucher from the fabulous

Well done Marina. we hope you will have a wonderful time spending your £10 voucher - you'll be spoilt for choice when you check out what is available there.  Please contact Keilly  with your details and she will sort everything out for you

January Colour Challenge

Happy new year!

Firstly, thanks to everyone that joined in with our last dare of 2012. We loved coming to peek at your paper pieced cards!
We're very happy to let you know that the lovely Miri will be joining our team at least until Easter - we're very much hoping that she'll stay longer.  It's wonderful news that although we've now  waved "Goodbye" to Rein, we'll still have a team member from Germany around the blog!

The draw for the Ribbon Reel voucher closed when this dare went live - we'll be back asap to announce who the lucky winner is...so keep checking back to see if it's you - wouldn't that be a great way to start the new year?.

For this week it's Leo here to bring you the first new dare for this new year! As it's the first week of the month it's our usual colour challenge and here's the colour combination for you to play with this week:
