Creature Comforts

Hi everyone!

It's Nat here bringing you this week's dare. Thanks for the lovely entries you shared for last week's Paint Effects dare!

Creature Comforts
This week I've had a little house guest of the furry variety - Lola the dog came to stay at what is becoming her holiday villa. ;o) So it got me to thinking about the pets in our lives and how it'd be nice to make a card featuring our furry best friends or those of the person you're making your card for.

We look forward to seeing what creatures make it to your cards - I wonder how exotic they'll be!

But first, here's some inspiration from the design team to get you started - it seems kitties were a big hit for us!

Paint Effects

Thanks to everyone who took part in Sharon's Ombre dare last week it was great to see what you came up with.

This week it's Leo here and I'd like you to have a go creating:

Paint Effects

I've recently been looking through all the new product catalogues and sneak peeks and seen lots of watercolour and other paint effect looks out there so I'd like you to take inspiration from that but rather than use ready made products I want to see you having a go at using an actual paint effect or painting technique on your card if you can. Use any kind of paint or ink you want or even brush markers, just to get the look of paint. Take a look at what the design team have created to get you started. Have fun!

Ombre

Thanks to everyone that took part in Lythan's Colour Combo last week - and what luck that her lovely summery colour scheme actually coincided with some summery weather at long last!

It's Sharon here with this weeks dare and my challenge is:
Ombre
I'd like to see the Ombre effect used on your card somewhere (an effect where the colour gradient goes from light to dark, like on a paint colour chart). This can be blended colour, or in blocks.  It seems this effect is really popular at the moment - not just in the craft world but in hair colouring too.   If you're looking for inspiration, pop over to Pinterest to see some fabulous ideas - but before you do that, have a look at the amazing ideas the team have come up with for you:

July Colour Challenge

Well, here we are at the start of another weekend, and first we must say a big Thank You to everyone who searched through their stash to find those forgotten and hidden treasures.  We hope you enjoyed the search and found some lovely things buried in the bottom of the drawers and the back of the cupboard.  Or maybe just at the bottom of the stash pile on your desk!

Another month is beginning, how crazy is that!
And it also means that it is time for another Colour Challenge for
the Daring Cardmakers.
As it is summer time I wanted to chose a colour palette that reflected that.
To be honest I wondered about choosing one called "stormy skies" or
"more dull days" but decided to live in hope.
Well even if the weather brings us down, cards inspired by these hues will certainly cheer us up!

I do hope you have fun creating - but first have a look at the fabulous cards the team have made.
