Sing!

This week's challenge is set by Kel and I want you to... Sing!

I love music… any kind of music.. Well, almost any kind. Not that ‘thump, thump, thump’ rubbish you hear blasting out of small cars modified to look like Imperial Storm Troopers… Ooh, sorry, off on a tangent and sounding like my Nan there!

Okay, inspired by my blog (I use the title of an 80s song for every post), this week’s challenge is to create a masterpiece featuring a song title or lyrics. And ‘Happy Birthday’ and ‘Congratulations’ don’t count…

Here's a site to help get you started : http://www.lyricsfreak.com/

Also this week, we welcome the fabulous Janine to the team now that she's finished running off to get married! Janine boosts our New Zealand contingent and we're so lucky to have her - her work is stunning!

The Design Team have worked really hard this week and have produced some beautiful, creative and sometimes amusing work! Take a peek this way...

Remember - There are two ways to show us your creations:

1. Leave a message on the blog and we'll come and look. We'll also add a link to the sidebar to make it easy for readers to visit your site and see what you've been up to.

2. We also have a gallery ready and waiting for non-blogger's cards. Just email your pictures to daringcardmakers@hotmail.co.uk and as soon as they've been OK'd they'll appear on the gallery. Please remember to add your name, the dare your card is for and your website info if you have one. If you can tell us how you came across The Daring Cardmakers that would be great too.

Thank you to everyone who shares their cards with us, they are all amazing and we really do appreciate the work you all put into each and every dare that we do.

Doodle Do!

Ok, pens at the ready!

This week's darer is Jo and your challenge is to make a card along any theme, colour, shape, size, etc.
but it must incorporate....

Doodling!

Doodling is a great way to add an individual touch to a card. It could be some simple pen 'stitching' or a hand written greeting or some flowers or swirls or flourishes......
Doodling can be as simple as creating imperfect circles on cardstock as a background, or doodle around an embellishment creating a one of a kind frame. You can doodle flowers and cut them out as embellishments that no one else will have.
You could always print writing or dingbats in a light grey and go over them with pen, or use a pencil to lightly mark out your design before going over it, it doesn't matter if you make a mistake as doodles are all individual and are not meant to be perfect.

That's it! Have fun everyone!

To give you some inspiration, here are the creations from the Design Team...

The Midweek Round Up

A big Thank you to those who've already shown us their "Ribbon for Men" cards, such a great variety of cards to see both on your blogs and on our gallery.
We're loving all of them and don't forget there's still plenty of time for anyone who hasn't got round to joining in with this one yet.
Go on, have a go,
we dare you!

And now here's our Little Extra for this week
We're giving you one word to play with this time. How you choose to interpret this is up to you, your card might have the word on it, or contain something to do with the word. It might be a quote or phrase with the word in it. It might convey a mood. So what is this word I hear you ask?

The word for the week is

SPARKLE

and here are some ideas to get you started.

Use some ribbon for the men in your life

Well what a fantastic selection of cards for Tracie's language card challenge. We really do enjoy seeing all your creations so please keep them coming

This week is Debbie's dare and it is called

Use some ribbon for the men in your life

It isn't as scary as it sounds though :-) Lots of us cardmakers struggle a little bit with men's cards so the dare is to make a card for a man - any theme or technique - but the design must include at least one piece of ribbon. You can use as much or as little ribbon on your card as you like - even just a little ribbon tab counts and you can use ric rac too.

There that's not too bad, is it!!

Now there are TWO ways to show us your cards

1. leave a message on the blog and we'll come and look. We'll also add a link to the sidebar to make it easy for readers to visit your site and see what you've been up to.

2. We now have a gallery ready and waiting for non-blogger's cards. Just email your pictures to daringcardmakers@hotmail.co.uk and as soon as they've been OK'd they'll appear on the gallery. Please remember to add your name, the dare your card is for and your website info if you have one. If you can tell us how you came across The Daring Cardmakers that would be great too.

We can't wait to see all your creations - have fun everyone.
